Artist Bio

Nanette Reynolds Beachner’s journey began in New York City. Born to an actress-artist-writer mother, and a father who worked in the Foreign Service of the US State Department and the United Nations, she traveled the world from the tender age of two months. Living in Europe, the West Indies, and Southeast Asia, Nanette developed a deep appreciation for the artistic differences and universal stories found around the world. Returning to New York during her teenage years was a difficult adjustment. Inspired by her mother’s theatrical work, Nanette would find a home away from home volunteering in theaters working both backstage and onstage. The skillsets developed during this time would lead to a professional career in film, television, theater and museum exhibitions. Bypassing college altogether, Nanette learned as she worked, allowing the self-taught artist she was to become to emerge. Exhibiting in the New York tri-state area since 2018, Nanette's work has been seen at AIR Gallery, Emerge Gallery, Drawing Rooms, Watchung Arts Center, Galerie Lucida, and the Hunterdon Museum to name a few. A recipient of the 2023 Individual Artist Fellowship Grants from the Jersey City Arts + Culture Fund, she looks forward to continuing her artistic journey, ever curious.
