Artist Bio
CARMEN VEGA is a Puerto-Riqueña who acknowledges her mixed inheritance: the Taino-Native; the Spanish-European; and the African roots. She works in multiple art forms: Photography, Video, Film, Poetry Performance and Theater. A sojourn of over 20 years in Los Angeles began in pursuit and completion of an MFA in Film Arts, Screenwriting at the America Film Institute. Immediately after, the artist turned to the stage for poetry performances and theater. She has published in various print and on-line zines and journals including the U. of Louisiana’s Southern Anthology. Her CD, ‘LaPoeta con Rock’ can be streams on all platforms, YouTube, Spotify, etc. And her Photographs hang in private and public spaces in LA, NY, NJ, Mexico & Spain. The work of community expression is a motivator and ongoing especially at the present matrix of time. Thank you!
